Edwardian (1901 - 1910)

Refers to the period during the reign of Edward VII of England (1901-1910) but the style has it's origins and roots during the final years of Queen Victoria's reign. It continued shortly before World War I when the more geometric influences (later to be called Art Deco) began to make headway.

Edwardian Furniture was a style of furniture very popular in England during the reign of King Edward VII in the early 1900s. You can identify Edwardian furniture by its well known eclectic, opulent qualities and style. It remains extremely popular amongst collectors and antique dealers alike and there is still a lot of it on the market which mean you can often find good bargains if you know what you are looking for.
